Our office is located in Surat, specifically at Flat No 502 in Patel Park, right on Rander Road. It’s a residential building, so it doesn’t look like a typical construction office from the outside. We spend half our time here and the other half out at various sites around Gujarat. Building things means a lot of dirt on your boots and a lot of phone calls to suppliers who are running late with the cement or the bricks. We don't have a big staff with fancy titles. It’s mostly just a few of us who know how to read blueprints and manage a crew of workers. Rander Road is always crowded, so getting anywhere takes twice as long as it should. We’ve got stacks of paper and site photos all over the tables. We don’t bother with a lot of marketing because the buildings we finish usually speak for themselves. People in the neighborhood know where to find us if they have a question or need something looked at. Sometimes the weather stops us from working, like when the monsoon hits Surat hard, and we just have to sit in the office and wait it out. It is a practical way to make a living. We aren’t trying to change the world, just trying to put up solid walls and make sure the roofs don't leak. It’s steady work and we like being part of the local community.
