Jayshree Novelty is a small shop situated in Sadashiv Peth on Laxmi Road in Bhagal. If you know Laxmi Road, you know how crowded it gets with shoppers and vehicles every single day. We have a lot of small items and novelties packed into our space, so it can feel a bit tight when more than a few people are inside. We have been here for a long time, and the shop has seen the neighborhood change through the decades. My father used to run things, and now we just keep the tradition going. We sell a bit of everything, from small household things to gift items that people pick up on their way home. The shelves are full, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for, but we usually know where everything is hidden. We do not have a fancy computer system to track everything; we just rely on our memory and some old-fashioned notebooks. The morning ritual involves sweeping the front and dusting the glass cases before the first customers show up. It is a humble life, and we like being part of the Bhagal market scene. On rainy days, it gets a bit quiet, which gives us time to reorganize the stock. We are just a local business that serves the people who walk by every day, and we plan to stay right here on Laxmi Road for as long as we can.
