Jay Ambe Photo Sales

Jay Ambe Photo Sales has been at G 47 in the Inderpura area of Vastrapur for quite some time. We are right near Nehru Park, which is a nice spot to be. On weekends, the park gets full of families, and sometimes they wander over to our shop to see what we have. We have a lot of camera gear and photo supplies crammed into the shelves. It’s a bit dusty in the corners because we have so much stock. I’ve been interested in photos since I was young, so running this place feels right, even if it’s a lot of work. The shop is on the ground floor, which is good because we get a lot of foot traffic. We see all kinds of people, from professional photographers to kids just looking for a cheap battery for a toy. Vastrapur is a decent place to work, though the parking can be a headache sometimes. We try to keep things simple. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people find us because they were walking past or a friend told them we had what they needed. The light in the shop isn't the best, but we know where everything is. We spend our days chatting with customers about their cameras and checking the latest price lists. It’s a quiet life mostly, just surrounded by lenses and tripods. We’ve seen the industry change from film to digital, but we're still here.
