We are over in Nawabwadi. The address is 9-160-A, which is easy to find if you know the lanes here. It's an old area, very traditional. We’ve been working with threads and materials for a long time now. My father started this and now I’m here running things. It's mostly about the daily grind, making sure the orders are ready on time. The machines make a lot of noise, but after a while, you don't even hear it anymore. People come in looking for specific things, and we have to dig through the back to find the right match. It’s a lot of manual work, really. The lighting in the shop isn't the best, so we often take things outside to the doorway to check the colors in the sun. We know most of the people on this street by name. It’s like a small village inside the city. Lunch is usually brought from home in a tiffin and eaten on the small table near the ledger books. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just the work area and the stock. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It is what it is. We just keep doing what we know. The years pass by and the building gets a bit older, but we are still here every morning at the same time, opening the doors.
