J H Shukla & Co. is situated at D-1, Kadambari Apartment. We are right at Majura Gate, which is a very busy intersection in Surat. If you look across from us, you will see the Vasan Eye Hospital. That is usually how we tell people to find us because everyone knows that hospital. Being at Majura Gate means there is never any silence. There are always horns honking and buses passing by. Our office in Kadambari Apartment is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to just walk in without having to deal with stairs or elevators. The building is a bit older, so the floors have that worn look, but it feels solid. We have a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait. The light inside is a bit dim because of the way the building is shaped, so we keep the tube lights on all day. It gets a bit dusty being so close to the main road, so we are always wiping down the tables. We’ve been here at J H Shukla & Co. for a good while. We know the traffic patterns and when it’s best to head out for lunch to avoid the biggest crowds. It’s just a practical place to work and stay connected to the rest of the city.
