This office is part of the Industries and Mines Department for the Gujarat government. We are specifically based in the Udhna area of Surat, right across from the South Zone Gate. Our setup is in Satya Nagar-6, at unit 42/504. It’s a typical government office where we handle a lot of files and paperwork related to local industrial activities and mining queries. There’s usually a bit of a queue, and the fans are always humming. We deal with people coming in for permits or just asking questions about regulations. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and going through documents. Being in Surat means we see a lot of activity from the nearby industrial zones. The office isn't very large, but we have a steady flow of visitors every day. We try to get through the applications as they come in. It can be slow sometimes because there’s a lot of procedure to follow. We aren't here to sell anything; we just manage the records and make sure the rules are being looked at. The location is easy enough to find if you know where the South Zone Gate is. It's a practical space for the work we do. We've been here for a while and the staff knows the local industrial landscape pretty well by now.
