Hakeem Chichi Pharmacy

We are right here on Hakeem Chchi Street in Ranitalao. It’s funny because the street name is basically our name too, so people don’t usually have a hard time finding us. We’ve been a pharmacy for the neighborhood for many years. Inside, it smells like a mix of old wood and medicine. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of bottles and boxes. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two people come in at once. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. Ranitalao is a close-knit area, and we feel like a part of the family here. We aren't like those big chain pharmacies that feel cold and empty. We have a small bench for people to sit on while they wait for their prescriptions. Sometimes we spend more time chatting with the elderly neighbors than actually filling orders, but that’s the way we like it. The floor is a bit worn down from all the footsteps over the years, but it gives the place some soul. We open early and stay open until the last person gets what they need. It’s just how things are done around here. We don't need fancy signs or big ads to let people know we are here for them. We just keep our shelves stocked and our doors open.
