Gopi Knitting Private Limited is tucked away in the Hojiwala Industrial Estate. Specifically, we’re on Road No- 7 at Plot No .C- 3/1 in Sachin. If you’ve ever been to this part of Surat, you know it’s just rows and rows of factories and workshops. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where the real work happens. We spend most of our time around the knitting machines. They make a lot of noise, so you get used to shouting a bit to be heard. We’ve been here in Sachin for a while now. It’s a practical location for what we do because all the suppliers and transport guys are nearby. Our team is mostly local people who know their way around a textile unit. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures. Usually, we just show people the fabric we’re working on and let that be it. Some days the heat in the shed is a bit much, but we keep the fans going and get through the production list. It’s a very hands-on business. You can’t really do knitting from a desk, so we’re always on the floor checking the needles and the yarn. We don’t try to pretend we’re a massive corporation. We’re just a knitting unit trying to keep things running smoothly and making sure the quality is okay for the people who buy from us.
