Shiv Tex

Shiv Tex is situated at Gidc Plot No. 6510/5. We are right in the middle of all the textile action in this part of town. Our plot is a bit of a squeeze once you get all the looms and the raw material inside, but we get everything in there. It’s a noisy environment, but after a few years, you don’t even notice the clatter anymore. We spend our days watching the threads and seeing that the patterns are coming out right. It’s not exactly glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps us occupied. There are usually three or four of us on the floor at any given time. We don't have a lot of rules, we just know what needs to be done. Sometimes we stay late when there is a big order to finish, and the streetlights are the only thing on in the GIDC. It’s quiet then, which is a nice change from the daytime rush. We’ve had some good years and some lean years, but we stay put at 6510/5. We don't really bother with social media or fancy websites. If someone needs us, they usually just walk in or call the old landline. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We just focus on the fabric and try to stay out of the way of the big guys. It’s a long day, but we are used to it by now.
