Shantiprabhu Textiles

Shantiprabhu Textiles is situated at Gidc Plot No. 3717/A. If you come by, you’ll hear the looms before you even see the sign. It’s a constant rhythmic sound that we have all grown used to. Most of the time, I am stuck in the small office area checking the numbers, but I prefer being out on the floor. There is something about seeing the thread turn into cloth that never gets old. We have had some tough years and some good ones, but we are still here at 3717/A. The space is a bit tight because we have squeezed in as many machines as we could. We mostly do bulk orders for local traders. It’s not a big corporate setup. We know the names of our workers’ kids and we share tea every afternoon. Sometimes the raw material prices go up and we have to scramble to keep things profitable. The roof leaks a tiny bit in the corner when it rains really hard, but we just move the rolls out of the way. We are just trying to do honest work and get the shipments out on time. The truck drivers know our spot because of the big tree near the entrance. It’s a busy life but it keeps us moving. We don't spend much time on the computer, just enough to handle the billing and the occasional email we get from suppliers.
