It’s a sound I’ve heard every day for years, so I don't even notice it anymore, but visitors always mention it. We have several rows of looms and they take up most of the floor space. There is barely enough room to walk between them. We produce different types of grey fabric that then goes elsewhere for dyeing. It’s a lot of watching the threads to make sure nothing snaps. If a thread breaks, the whole thing can get messed up, so our guys have to be very quick to spot problems. We aren't a polished corporate office. My desk is usually covered in samples and scraps of paper. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which we do several times a day. The GIDC life is tough sometimes with the traffic and the heat, but it’s where the work is. We have built some good relationships with the traders in the market. They know we are at Plot 4214 if they need a specific weave. We don't do any big marketing stuff. We just focus on the quality of the cloth coming off the loom. It is a lot of manual labor and long hours, but we are proud of what we make here.
