Savytex Silk Mills is located at GIDC Estate, number 5913. Being in an industrial estate means things are always moving around us. There are factories and warehouses everywhere you look. Our place is pretty much like the others—functional and built for work. We don't have a front desk with a receptionist or any of that. Usually, you’ll just find us on the floor or in the small office area near the front. We deal with a lot of fabric and machinery every day. It gets dusty and loud, but that’s the reality of a silk mill. We’ve been part of this estate for quite a while. The routine doesn't change much. We start early and work until the job is finished. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits. We wear what’s comfortable for the work we do. There’s always a truck coming or going, loading up or dropping things off. It keeps us busy. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decorations. We’d rather just focus on making sure the machines are running and the orders are correct. If you come by GIDC, you’ll see our unit. It’s a large space that has seen plenty of work over the years. It’s a simple operation, run by people who have been doing this for a long time and don't see any reason to change how things are done. We just do the work and try to keep everything running.
