Friends (I) Exim is based in A-708 at the India Textile Market on Ring Road. If you’ve ever been to the textile market, you know how incredibly busy and crowded it can get. There are people and goods moving in every direction at all hours of the day. Our office is up on the seventh floor, which takes us away from some of the noise on the ground level, but the hustle and bustle still reaches us. We have stacks of samples and fabric swatches all over the place. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes and shelves. We spend a lot of our time talking to suppliers and checking on shipments. The Ring Road area is always humming with activity, and finding a place to park is almost impossible most days. We usually just eat lunch at our desks because there is so much to keep track of. The team is small, and we’ve all been working together in this market for a long time. The office air conditioning struggles a bit in the peak of summer, so we have a few extra fans going. It’s not a polished corporate environment by any means. It’s a working office in the middle of a major trading hub. We just keep track of the orders and make sure the paperwork is sorted out for the next day. It’s a lot of hard work but we’re used to the rhythm of the market. We have been in this same spot for several years and have seen many shops come and go.
