Essar Steels Ltd.,Hazira Surat

We’ve been set up here at the Ferrous Tower in Nand Niketan for a good while now. Most people around Hazira know the Essar township area pretty well. It is a busy spot. We handle a lot of the steel work that goes through this part of Surat. It gets hot in the summer and the dust from the yard is just part of the daily routine. Our office is in I2/16. It isn't a fancy place, just where we keep the paperwork and meet for tea before starting the shift. People come in and out all day looking for different grades of metal. Sometimes the trucks are backed up all the way down the road. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. My desk is usually covered in delivery notes. We have some long-time staff who have lived in the township since it was built. It feels more like a small neighborhood than a big industrial site sometimes. We see the same faces every morning at the gate. If you are coming down to find us, just look for the Ferrous Tower. It’s hard to miss. We don’t do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where we sit. It’s a lot of manual work and checking orders. The phone rings a bit too much on Mondays. We just get on with the job. It is honest work and it keeps the local industry running along. Most of the guys here are from nearby villages.
