Essar Steel Limited

Essar Steel Limited is located at Raghunath Para in Titilagarh. It’s a small place in the Bolangir district of Orissa. If you know the area, you know it can get really hot here in the summer. Our office isn’t much to look at, just a sturdy building where we manage the steel orders. We’ve been here for years, and most of the locals know who we are. It’s a quiet life in Titilagarh, but we stay busy with the work. There is always someone coming in asking about prices or looking for a specific type of steel. We don't use much fancy technology. A lot of our records are still kept in big ledgers by hand. It feels more reliable that way sometimes. The power goes out once in a while, so we just sit outside and talk until it comes back on. It’s a very local operation. We know our customers by their first names. We don’t have any big corporate goals; we just want to get the steel where it needs to go. My brother helps out with the deliveries sometimes. It’s a family-style environment even though it’s a big company name. We just take things one day at a time. The monsoon season makes the roads a bit tricky, but we manage. If you are ever in Raghunath Para, you can’t miss us. We’re usually the ones with the trucks parked out front.
