Essar Steel Hazira Ltd

We’ve been running things here at Essar Steel Hazira Ltd for a good while now. Our spot is at I3-8 in the Nandniketan Township over in Surat. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to find. Most of the folks working here actually live nearby in the same township, so it feels like a small community even though it's a steel plant. We handle the day-to-day operations and keep the machinery going. It’s loud and hot work, but that’s just how steel making is. People come in for their shifts, do what needs doing, and head home. We don't have fancy offices or anything like that, just the workshop and the desks we need to keep track of the orders coming through. Some days are busier than others, especially when there's a big haul to move out. We just focus on getting the steel out of the gate without too much fuss. Surat is a busy place, and being in Gujarat means there’s always something moving on the roads. We've got a regular crew that's been around for years. They know the equipment better than anyone. It isn't always pretty, and the floors get dusty, but the work is solid. We just keep our heads down and stay busy at the I3-8 unit. That’s pretty much us. It’s just how we get through the week and keep the business going for everyone involved.
