Essar Steel (Hazira) Limited

Our office is located in Ferrous Tower 1, specifically at I-1/64 inside the Nandniketan area. It is one of those buildings that everyone recognizes once they get close to the Essar Steel site here in Hazira. Working in Surat like this, you quickly get used to the sound of the industry and the constant movement of people heading to their shifts. The tower itself isn't anything special on the inside, just a bunch of desks and computers with a lot of folders stacked up on every available surface. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics side of things and the technical parts of the steel operations. It involves a lot of talking on phones and making sure that things are where they are supposed to be. The view out the windows shows the rest of the facility, which is actually quite huge when you see it all at once. Sometimes we grab a quick tea downstairs when things slow down for a few minutes. It is a very practical workspace. No one really wears suits much unless there is a very specific reason for it. We are mostly just local people or folks who moved into the area specifically for the work. Gujarat is a busy state for this kind of business, and being right in the middle of it means there is always something to fix or a report to finish. We don't have a big reception area, just the office where we get through the day.
