We’ve been here at the 27 K.M. mark on Surat-Hazira Road for quite a while now. Being right near Essar Steel means there is always a lot of traffic and heavy trucks passing by our gate. It gets pretty dusty out here during the day, but that is just how it is in this part of Surat. Most of our time is spent looking at drawings or managing the heavy gear out in the yard. It is a lot of hard work. Sometimes the weather makes things tough, especially when the humidity kicks in, but the crew just keeps moving. We aren't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we get the engineering jobs done and keep track of all the parts. People know us for being down-to-earth and just handling what comes our way without making a big fuss. If you come by, you’ll probably see a few of us drinking tea near the main entrance before the next shift starts. The machines make a lot of noise, so it's rarely quiet. We just try to keep things organized so everything runs the way it should. It’s a busy spot and we are usually focused on the tasks right in front of us. No two days are exactly the same here on the road. We just try to stay on top of the schedule and make sure the equipment is ready when it needs to be. We aren't flashy, we just work and try to be useful.
