Essar Constructions

Up on the seventh floor of Rameshwaram Residency in Adajan, that is where we keep our files and do the planning for Essar Constructions. We’ve been based here in Surat for a while now. It’s a busy city, and Adajan is a good spot to reach most of the places where we work. We aren't a big company with a lot of hierarchy. It’s just us, the workers, and the guys who manage the sites. Construction is a tough business because things rarely go perfectly. You might run out of sand, or a machine breaks down on a Tuesday morning. We just deal with those things as they come. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy website. We're more comfortable on a construction site than in a boardroom. We use simple tools and traditional methods mostly, because that's what we know works for buildings in Gujarat. Our team is pretty small, and we’ve all been working together for a long time. We don't talk in corporate jargon. If you ask us a question, we give you a plain answer. It’s about being honest and doing the labor that needs to be done. Whether it’s a small house repair or something a bit bigger, we just put our heads down and get through the task until it’s finished properly. It’s a bit of a climb up to B-701, but the view of the city helps when things get stressful.
