Essar Constructions (I) Ltd

We are based out of Vikhroli West, right in the middle of Surya Nager. If you know the area, you know Shivaji Chowck is always busy and loud. Our office is in Chatrapathi Shahu Chawl. It’s a tight space, but it’s where all the decisions happen for Essar Constructions (I) Ltd. Mumbai is a crowded city, and we are right in the thick of it. We don't have the luxury of a huge warehouse, so we have to be smart about how we move our materials and machines around. Being in a chawl means we are close to the people we work for. You can hear the sounds of the street all day long while we’re trying to work out the project costs or look at blueprints. It's not a polished environment. There are files stacked on every surface and the fan usually squeaks a bit in the heat. We don't mind the noise; it keeps us awake. We do construction work all over the city, but this is home base for us. Most of our guys live nearby, so we can get started early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad. We don't put out big ads in the papers. People just know our name from seeing our signs at different work sites. It’s honest labor. We deal with the monsoon rains and the heat just like everyone else. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We just want to get the walls straight and the plumbing right.
