We have been operating out of the Dharmendra Complex for a while now, right in front of the Magob Police Choukey here in Magob, Surat. It is a busy little spot, and most people find us just by looking for the police station across the road. Our office isn't anything fancy to look at. We have a couple of desks, some old chairs, and usually a lot of boxes stacked up against the walls. The mornings are the loudest time because that is when the trucks come in and we have to sort through everything that arrived overnight. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running all day long. We handle a lot of different things, from small envelopes to bigger cargo loads that need to get across the country. There are just a few of us working here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, like answering the phone or taping up boxes when it gets busy. We don't have a big reception area or a coffee machine for guests. It is just a practical place where we get the work done. Sometimes the printer jams or the internet goes down for an hour, but we just manage it. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask about rates for Mumbai or Delhi, and we just weigh their stuff and tell them. It is straightforward and we like the routine of it.
