You’ll find us right in the thick of things at No. 584 Abhinandan Market on Ring Road. If you know this part of the city, you know how hectic it gets with all the textile trade going on. Our shop is just one of many, and it’s usually crammed full of silk rolls and sarees from floor to ceiling. It can be a bit overwhelming for people who aren't used to the market. We don't have a lot of space, so we’re always shuffling boxes around to make room for customers to stand. We've been here for many years, and the walls are a bit stained and the floor is worn down, but that just shows how much work gets done here. We deal with all sorts of silk, and we spend our days showing different patterns to people who come from all over. There’s no fancy lighting or sales pitches here. We just pull down a roll, let you feel the fabric, and talk about the price. It’s a very direct way of doing business. The noise from the Ring Road is constant, with horns honking and people shouting, but we’ve learned to tune it out. My family has been in the silk trade for a long time, so it’s in our blood. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We just want to keep selling good silk and making enough to keep the shop going for another generation.
