Design Studio Nine

We are based in Surat, which is a city that never really seems to slow down. Our space here at Design Studio Nine is where all the actual work happens, and it usually involves a lot of sketching and sitting in front of computer screens for hours. It is not a massive studio, but it is enough for what we need to get through our tasks. We spend a lot of time talking about different shapes and colors, trying to figure out the right way to make things fit together. The air in Surat can get quite humid during the day, so our fans and AC are usually running all the time. We have various samples of materials lying around on the tables, and sometimes the floor gets a bit messy with all the scraps of paper from our drawings. We do not really have a very formal way of doing things around here. Usually, someone has a rough idea, we draw it out on a pad, and then we see if it actually works in real life. It is a lot of trial and error and just seeing what looks right. Most of the people we work with are local folks who just want something specific for their own place. We try to keep things down to earth and just talk like normal people. The traffic outside our building can be a bit loud, but once you are inside, it is mostly just the sound of us working. We have been in the 395009 area for a bit.
