We are over in Nanpura on 12th Road. Our office is in the B wing, specifically rooms 607 and 610. Design Point Vizon India Consult Pvt Ltd might sound like a big name, but we’re just a group of people working together in a couple of interconnected rooms. Being up on the sixth floor gives us a decent view of the area, though we’re usually too busy looking at our screens to notice. The lift in this building is a bit slow, so we often tell people to give it a minute. Inside, it’s a mix of old desks and newer computers. We have a lot of discussions about structural details and how things are going to actually look once they are built. Nanpura is a busy part of the city, so there’s always something happening outside. We usually have a lot of blueprints rolled up in the corners and samples of materials sitting on the shelves. It’s a functional space. We don’t have a lot of decorations. We just focus on the drawings and the consultancy work. People come in with their ideas, and we try to put them on paper as best as we can. It’s a lot of back and forth. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp during the afternoon slump. It’s not a fancy life, but we like the challenge of getting a design just right for the space available.
