Our office is over in the Adajan area, specifically in Sanghvi Tower at Plot No-122. It is a busy part of town, right near L P Shvani. We do a lot of work related to books and getting manuscripts ready for the printers. There is usually a lot of noise from the office equipment or people discussing how a page should look. The desks are almost always covered in proofs, pens, and stacks of paper that need to be checked. We have been here for some time now. The space is a bit tight, but we manage to get everything done. Sometimes the deadlines get quite close and we end up staying much later than we planned. The air conditioner in here has a hard time keeping up when the summer heat really hits Surat. Most of our day is spent sitting and looking closely at text to make sure there aren't any mistakes before things go to print. We see all kinds of people, from authors who are very excited about their first book to others who have been doing this for years. We just handle the middle part of the process, making sure the pages are set up correctly. It is honest work and it keeps us occupied from the moment we open up in the morning. We don't have any fancy decorations, just shelves full of the books we have worked on.
