Chokhawala Pankaj

The shop is located at 183 Palanpur Nd. It is a busy area but we like it here. My name is on the front, Chokhawala Pankaj, though most people just call me by my first name when they walk through the door. We opened up here because the location felt right and it was close to where most of our regulars live. The space isn't huge, but it fits everything we need to do our jobs. Most days are pretty much the same. We open up, check what needs to be done for the day, and then get to it. There’s always some noise coming from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have some wooden chairs for people to sit on if they have to wait, but they aren't the most comfortable things in the world. Nobody seems to mind though. We keep the ledger on the main desk and try to stay organized, even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. We’ve had the same neighbors for years now. The guy next door sells hardware and we often share a cup of tea in the evenings when things quiet down. We don't do any big advertising or anything fancy. People find us because they know the name or someone told them to come here. It’s just a normal local business doing what it does and keeping things moving.
