Chauhan Pravinkumar

I’m based out in Olpad, specifically at 10th Cross in the 1st Block of Rajajinagar. If you find the Garampanchayat Bhavan, I’m right across from it. My name is Chauhan Pravinkumar and I’ve lived and worked in this area for years. Being opposite the panchayat building means there is always something going on. People are always coming and going for their paperwork or meetings, so there is plenty of foot traffic. I usually sit out front for a bit in the mornings to see who is around. My place is pretty basic, just a few rooms and the equipment I need for my daily jobs. The roof gets a bit loud when it rains, but that’s just how it is around here. I don’t go in for anything too modern. I prefer the way things have always been done. The street outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon season, so I keep a mat by the door for everyone to wipe their feet. I do my own paperwork and handle the calls myself. It’s a one-man show mostly, though sometimes I have a cousin come by to help if things get backed up. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps me busy from morning until the sun goes down over the fields. I like seeing the same faces every day and knowing everyone's name while the trucks rumble past on the way to the market.
