Bridgestone Select - Auto Tyre

Our shop, Bridgestone Select - Auto Tyre, is located in the Super Market area on Ring Road, right near the Sub Jail in Khatodra Wadi. We have three shops joined together, so there’s enough space for the cars to pull in and for us to store a lot of tyres. It’s a noisy place because of all the traffic on the Ring Road and the sound of the machines we use for wheel balancing and alignment. We spend our days covered in a bit of grease and dust, but that’s the job. People come in when they have a flat or when their tyres are getting bald and dangerous. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just get to work checking the pressure and seeing what needs to be fixed. It’s honest work. The Surat heat can be tough in the summer, especially since we are open to the road, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. We keep a variety of tyres in stock because you never know what kind of vehicle will pull up next. Sometimes it's a small car, other times it’s something much bigger. We’ve been at this spot for a while, so the locals and the taxi drivers know they can just pull in. It’s not a fancy showroom with sofas and coffee. It’s a place where you get your tyres sorted so you can get back on the road safely. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get people moving as quickly as we can. Our hands are usually dirty, but our work is solid.
