Bharat Shah

Bharat Shah is the name on the door here at Nanpura 208, but we don't make a big deal out of it. It’s a small place, just one room really, filled with the usual office stuff. You’ll find old files, a couple of chairs that have seen better days, and a desk that’s usually buried under letters and notebooks. Nanpura is a lively part of town, so there’s always something happening outside the window. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time now. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. It’s just me and sometimes a helper getting through the day's tasks. The light in 208 is okay, though we have to keep the fan on high during the summer months. People come by for all sorts of reasons, sometimes just to drop off a document or have a quick chat about a project. We don't do appointments in the way big offices do; if the door is open, we’re here. It’s a very plain way of doing business, but it keeps things honest. We know the local tea stall guy and the postman by their first names. There’s no corporate ladder to climb here. We just start working in the morning and go home when the work is finished. It's simple, a bit old-fashioned maybe, but it works for us at Nanpura.
