Our shop is G-2 in the Sukhdev Complex, right across from the Torrent Power building on Vastadevdi Road in Katargam. It is a really busy street, so you can always hear the traffic and people outside. We have been in this spot for a while now, and the shop is where we keep our tools and some small display cases. It isn’t a big, fancy place like the ones you see in the city malls. We like to keep things simple. Most of our work involves sitting at a small bench, using little tools to look at jewelry or do some repairs. We have to have very bright lights so we can see the small details, which makes the shop look very bright when it gets dark outside. We often have people from the neighborhood stopping by to chat or ask us to clean a ring for them. We don't have any big staff, just a couple of us who know how to do the work. There is a smell of metal polish that always seems to be in the air. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded if more than two people walk in at the same time, but we manage just fine. It is a humble spot where we focus on the tiny details and treat everyone who comes in like a neighbor. We are just regular people doing our job in Katargam every day.
