We have been sitting here at Bal Karishna near the Katargam Darwaja for quite some time now. Our place is at number 124 and it stays pretty busy because of the location. Most mornings start with just getting the shutters up and sweeping the front sidewalk. You can hear the traffic starting up early around Nalasopara and the rest of Katargam. It is a bit of a crowded spot but we are used to the noise by now. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes things slow, so we just sit under the fan and wait for the evening rush to begin. People stop by on their way home from work. Usually they are in a hurry to get things done. The shop is full of stuff we have gathered over the years and it is not always the tidiest place, but we know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something specific, we usually have to dig through a few boxes or look behind the counter to find it. That is just how it goes here. There is a tea stall not far away and that keeps us going through the long days. We do not really have a big staff, just us handling the daily chores and the customers. It is a simple life really. We do not do much advertising because most people just know we are here by the Darwaja. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but there never seems to be a good time to close up.
