Jay Polytarp Industries

Jay Polytarp Industries is sitting over at Plot 15, Survey No. 46/1-P. You will find us in the Daman Ganga Industrial Estate. It is a place where you can smell the plastic and hear the hum of industry from the moment you park your bike. We make tarpaulins and heavy sheets that people use for all sorts of things, like covering trucks or keeping the rain off their roofs during the monsoon. It is not a glamorous job, but it is necessary. Our team is small, mostly local guys from around the area who know how to work the machines. The sun hits the metal roof of the shed in the afternoons and it gets quite warm inside. We usually take our breaks under the shade of the trees near the gate. Daman Ganga is a busy place and there is always someone looking for a bit of polytarp. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or big signs. Most people just find us by driving through the estate and looking for Plot 15. We have been handling these materials for years, so we know how they behave in the heat and the wind. It is just a regular factory with regular people trying to make a living. We don't have a mission statement or a board of directors. It is just Jay and the rest of us making sure the sheets are cut straight.
