We’ve got our office at 203, Pashaka, which is right by the Civil Char Rasta on Ring Road. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always something happening outside. Associated architects (i) pvt. ltd. has been operating out of this space for a while. The building isn't brand new, but it’s sturdy and central. We have a few rooms where we keep our files and the drawing boards. It’s not a sterile environment; there are books everywhere and models sitting on the windowsills. We spend a lot of time arguing over details or looking at site photos. The Ring Road traffic can be loud, but we’ve gotten used to the background hum. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, whichever one of us is closest to the desk just picks it up. It’s a practical way of working. Most people who come to see us are looking to build something in the local area or renovate what they already have. We try to keep things clear and simple without using a lot of jargon. Sometimes the lift in Pashaka is slow, so we just take the stairs to the second floor. It’s a lot of work, keeping up with everything, but we enjoy the process of seeing things go from a sketch to a real building. We just keep our heads down and focus on the project at hand.
