Majura Gate is a busy area in Surat and our office is right there in Harihar Nagar Apartment. Being behind the Brahmakumaris center makes it easy to give people directions when they are coming over for the first time. The office is on the New Civil Road side, so it stays pretty active throughout the day. We spend a lot of time here at our desks working on different architectural layouts. It’s not a large office, but it fits all our drafting tools and the computers we need for the job. You’ll usually find piles of site maps and rolls of paper tucked into corners because we do a lot of planning work. The weather in Surat can get really humid, so the air conditioning is almost always running while we talk through project details. Sometimes the neighbors from the other apartments in E/3 block pop in to say hello or ask a quick question. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the plans make sense for whoever is going to build them. There isn't any fancy decor here, just practical stuff like stools and large tables. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we draw. Most of our day is spent making sure the lines on the paper match what’s actually happening out on the construction sites. It's a steady routine that keeps us busy from morning until we lock up in the evening.
