Krafto Glass

We are set up on the first floor over at Shalimar Ind. Esta. It’s an older building but it works for what we do at Krafto Glass. We deal with all kinds of glass pieces, cutting them to size and making sure the edges are right. There is always a layer of dust on everything and the sound of cutting glass is something you just get used to after a while. I started working with glass because I liked how it looked when it was finished, even if it’s a bit of a dangerous job if you aren’t careful. We have some heavy tables and a lot of specialized cutters. People come to us when they need something specific for a window or a frame. Sometimes we have big sheets of glass leaning against the walls and you have to be really careful walking around. The industrial estate is a busy place with a lot of other workshops nearby, so there’s always noise and people moving about. My hands have a few small scars from over the years, which is just part of the trade I guess. We aren’t a big company with a lot of staff. It’s just a few of us here making sure the orders are cut correctly and ready for pickup. We keep the windows open when it’s hot, but the glass stays cool. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until late afternoon.
