Sai Twisters

Sai Twisters is over at Shed No. 9 and 10 in the Amul Industrial Society on Althan Road. We have two sheds because we needed the extra room for the machines. Althan Road is a busy place and there is always something being moved around. Our work involves twisting yarn and thread which is a noisy job. When the machines are all running you can't hear much else so we use a lot of hand signals to talk to each other. It is a bit oily and dusty inside but that is just the nature of the textile business. We have been in the Amul society for quite some time and we know the other shed owners around us. We often borrow tools from each other or help out when a truck gets stuck. It is a good community to be a part of. We don't have an office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have a small desk in the corner where we keep the books and take orders. Most of our customers are other businesses who need their materials processed. We don't do anything fancy. We just take the raw material and do the twisting as requested. It is simple work but it requires a lot of attention so the threads don't snap. We stay busy from morning until late evening most days to keep the machines running.
