Akash Video

Akash Video is situated at 9 Bamroli GIDC Estate. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by a lot of other businesses and workshops. It is a busy area with trucks moving in and out throughout the day. Our space is dedicated to video work, so we have some specialized equipment and a few editing stations set up. The walls are thick to keep out some of the noise from the nearby factories. It is not a fancy studio with high-end furniture; we use what works. Most of our desks are just plain wood, and we have wires running across the floor covered by mats. We have been at this Bamroli location for a good while. The air gets a bit heavy with the industrial smell sometimes, but we have fans to keep it moving. We spend a lot of time sitting in front of screens, so we try to make the chairs as comfortable as possible. People from other units in the GIDC often drop by for a quick chat or to see what we are working on. It is a hardworking environment. We do not have a big reception area, just a small space for people to wait. We usually have a lot of hard drives and tapes sitting around on the shelves. It is a practical place for doing practical work. We just focus on getting the edits done.
