Metaascrap

Out here at Metaascrap Aanjana Farm, things are usually pretty dusty and loud. We deal with a lot of metal that most people have no use for anymore. Metaascrap isn't really a farm in the way most people think, but we have the space we need at the Aanjana Farm location. We spend our time sorting through piles of iron, copper, and whatever else comes through the gates on the back of a truck. It’s hard work and your hands are never really clean at the end of the day. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, making the scrap piles glow. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. We just have a small shed where we keep the scales and a few ledgers to track what’s going out. Sometimes people get lost trying to find us since the farm area is a bit spread out. We just tell them to look for the big piles of metal near the fence line. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We see all kinds of stuff come in, from old car parts to bits of machinery that look like they’re a hundred years old. We just break it down and move it along. It’s quiet in the mornings before the first truck arrives, and that’s probably the best part of the day.
