Megha General Store

You can find Megha General Store over in Ward No. 7 in Village Banwari. We are situated at Post Keoti, and the Ram Julum High School is just nearby. Because we are so close to the school, we get a lot of students coming in during their breaks or after classes are over. They mostly want small snacks, pens, or notebooks. The rest of the day, it's the local families from Banwari who come in for their groceries. I keep a variety of things like washing powder, toothpaste, and different types of lentils. The shop is just a single room with wooden shelves I built myself a few years back. They aren't perfectly straight, but they hold the weight of the jars just fine. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to escape the sun for a bit and talk about the weather or the crops. It gets a bit loud when the school bell rings and all the kids rush out at once. I try to keep the fridge stocked with cold water and sodas because it gets really hot in the afternoons here. There’s a small tree out front that gives a bit of shade to the entrance. I usually close up for a couple of hours in the middle of the day to go home for a meal. It’s a steady routine that doesn't change much from year to year, and that’s alright with me.
