M/S Ocl India Ltd (Cement Division

Living and working in the Ocl Colony in Rajgangpur means that work and life are pretty much the same thing for us. Our office is in Nayak Block-7/4, right here in the heart of the colony. Being part of the cement division for Ocl India Ltd keeps us very busy, as cement is the main thing this town is known for. The dust is just part of the atmosphere here in Sundargarh, and you kind of get used to it after a week or two. We spend our days tracking shipments and making sure the production side is keeping up with the demand. It is a bit of a maze in the colony if you are a visitor, but once you find our block, it is easy enough. The office is fairly simple, mostly just functional furniture and stacks of ledgers. We have a lot of locals working here, so everyone knows everyone else’s family. It is a tight-knit environment where news travels fast. We don’t need to do much talking about what we do because the plant is right there and everyone sees the trucks leaving every hour. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We handle the logistical side of the cement business without a lot of ceremony. If a problem comes up at the site, we just walk over and see what needs to be fixed. It is a steady life in Orissa.
