Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited (A Govt. Of India Undertaking)

Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited is a government undertaking, and we are located at Balijodi in the lower part of Rourkela. Our post office is Sonaparbat. If you have ever been to Rourkela, you know it is all about the steel plants and the heavy industry. We spend our days dealing with scrap metal, which is a big part of the cycle here. It is a noisy job, and the yard is always full of iron and steel bits. Being a government place, there are a lot of rules and forms to fill out every single day. We don't have a lot of say in how things are run, we just follow the procedures. It is a lot of manual labor and crane work. The sun beats down on the metal, and it gets incredibly hot in the yard during the daytime. We wear our safety gear and just get on with it. Rourkela is a tough town, but the people are hard-working. We aren't looking to be famous or anything. We just process the scrap so it can be used again. It’s a practical job that needs to be done. The office is right there by the site, so you can always hear the sound of metal clanging together. It is not a place for people who like a quiet environment. We are just workers doing our bit.
