Balaji General Store

Balaji General Store is located on the Main Road in Bondamunda, specifically in Sector 20-B. We are right near the Shiv Mandir, so it is a very easy spot for people to find. On festival days, the whole area gets very crowded with people going to the temple. Our shop is a basic general store where we keep things like soap, matches, snacks, and cold drinks. I opened this place because I wanted to be my own boss. It is a small space with shelves lining every wall. My wife helps me out in the afternoons so I can take a break. We have a small refrigerator for the drinks, and it hums quite loudly in the quiet moments. Most of our customers are from the local blocks in Sector 20-B. They stop by on their way home to pick up things they forgot for dinner. We don't use any high-tech systems here. I have a wooden drawer for the cash and a small notebook for credits. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in just to look at the toys we keep on the top shelf. It is a simple life and the work is steady. We like being on the Main Road because there is always something to see. It might not be the most modern shop in Raurkela, but it serves the people living around the Shiv Mandir just fine. We just try to keep enough stock so people don't have to go far.
