Kalpabrukhya Foundation

Kalpabrukhya Foundation is easy to find if you know Kunjakanta. We are right on the eastern lane of the Kunjakanta pond. Having the water so close is nice, though the mosquitoes can be a bit much in the evenings. The lane itself is narrow, so it’s better to come on a cycle or just walk if you can. Our building is just like the others on the street, nothing stands out much. We have a small room where we keep our things and do our work. It gets a bit hot during the middle of the day, but we have a good breeze coming off the pond sometimes. People in the neighborhood often pass by our door on their way to the market. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the locals who live along the eastern lane. It’s not a high-tech place by any means. We have some old cupboards for files and a few wooden tables. We try to keep the place tidy, but with people coming in and out, there’s usually a bit of dust. It’s a very local feel here. We know the families living nearby and we see the kids playing near the water every afternoon. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who care about what’s happening in this part of town. It is a quiet existence but we like the pace of it.
