Venkat Agro Trading Co

Venkat Agro Trading Co is located on Madevi Road in Malerkotla. We’re pretty easy to find since we are quite near the railway station. You can usually hear the trains passing by while we’re working. We deal with agricultural trading, mostly handling whatever crops are in season. The warehouse is a big, open space that smells like grain and earth. It’s a busy place during harvest time, with trucks coming in and out all day long. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or checking the quality of the bags that come in. It’s not a very clean job; there’s always dust in the air. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know most of the farmers in the area. They drop by to talk about the prices or the weather. We don’t have a fancy office—just a desk and some chairs where we can sit and have tea. Sometimes the market prices are good, and sometimes they’re not, but we just keep going. The location near the station helps with moving things around, though the traffic can be a bit of a mess. It’s just me and a couple of helpers keeping things moving. We don't do anything too complicated, just buying and selling what the land provides. It’s a decent way to make a living here in Malerkotla.
