Malabar Bazaar

Way up in Wayanad at 4/1 near Malangery is where you will find Malabar Bazaar. It is a beautiful area but the work here is just like anywhere else. We run a bazaar which means we have a bit of everything. From local produce to basic household items we try to keep the shelves full. The building is near Malangery and it has that local feel you only get in this part of the country. It’s not a supermarket with bright lights and uniform employees. It’s just us and sometimes a few helpers from the village. The rain in Wayanad can be heavy so there are days when things move a bit slower. We spend time talking to the farmers who bring their goods in and the families who stop by for their weekly supplies. The floor is made of stone and it stays cool even when it's warm outside. We don't have a mission statement or anything. We just open the doors in the morning and close them when the sun goes down. Sometimes we run out of things and people have to wait for the next delivery truck to come up the winding roads. That’s just life here. Malabar Bazaar is a part of the daily routine for people living around here. We like the quiet pace and the familiar faces that come through the door every day. It’s a good way to live and we wouldn't change much about it.
