Hill Valley Educational Foundation

We are based out of Nagendra Singh’s place in Panch-Kharika, which is in Sultanpur village in the Sonepur block. It is a very rural area, so things tend to move at their own pace. The foundation is all about education. We do not have a big, modern school building or anything like that yet. It is more about doing the groundwork and helping people understand what is available for them. We spend a lot of our time in Sonepur talking to parents and the kids about their future. Nagendra is the person who keeps everything running from the village end of things. It is a lot of walking and a lot of talking. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of money to spend on fancy offices. We just use our time and what little resources we can find. Sometimes we have our meetings in the village square or just at someone’s house. The goal is just to get more people thinking about school and learning. It is hard work because people have a lot of other important things to worry about, like their farming and their daily jobs. But we stay at it anyway. We have been in Sultanpur for a while now and the locals know who we are. We are just regular people who think education is important for the kids here in the block. We don't have fancy brochures, just our presence here.
