Our shop is on Court Road, right there on Vysial Street. We’re quite close to St. Sebastian School, so you can usually hear the kids during their break times. We’ve been at No. 04 for a good while. We sell furniture, but it’s more of a warehouse feel than a fancy store. There are chairs stacked up and tables leaning against the walls. The air always has that smell of fresh wood and varnish. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow street for a few minutes while we unload new stock, and the neighbors get a bit annoyed. We handle everything from simple stools to big cupboards. It’s heavy work, moving these things around. We don’t have a lot of sales talk. If a piece of wood has a knot in it, we point it out. We aren't trying to be a designer boutique. We just provide stuff for people to sit on or sleep on. The floor is concrete and we’ve got a few old fans to keep the air moving. My nephew helps out with the heavy lifting on his days off. We get people from Sultanpet and all over the area coming in. Most people just walk in, look around, and touch the wood to see if it’s solid. It’s a simple business. We open early and stay until the street gets quiet at night. It’s just what we do every day.
