We are down at 52-88 on PG Road in the Gantamatam area. This is where we make and keep all our handicrafts. It’s more of a workshop than a fancy store. There is wood dust everywhere and the smell of paint is pretty strong most days. We make things by hand, so nothing is ever perfectly identical. That’s just how it goes when you aren't using big machines for everything. Some days we are carving, other days we are polishing. It’s slow work. We have a few guys who have been doing this since they were kids. PG Road can get a bit busy with bikes and carts, but we just stay inside and focus on the wood or the clay. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. People usually hear about us from their neighbors. If you walk in, you'll see half-finished pieces sitting on the floor. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. But that's how a real workshop looks. We aren't trying to be a big export house. We just make stuff that people can use or put in their homes. Gantamatam is a decent place to work. We know the people around here and they know us. We just keep the traditions going as best as we can without making a big fuss about it. Sometimes we take a break for tea when the sun gets too hot and the shop feels stuffy.
