Our place is at House Number 43 in Sector B of Indira Nagar, right here in Srinagar. It’s more of a residential-looking area, but we’ve got our operations set up inside. We deal with oils and engines, so there’s often a bit of a mechanical smell in the air, which we’ve all grown to like. It’s a small team of us working out of this building. We have a lot of barrels and boxes stacked up in the storage area, and the office part is just a few desks with some old computers. We spend our time checking orders and making sure the right products get to the mechanics and shops around Jammu and Kashmir. The winters are tough here, especially when we have to move heavy items in the cold, but we manage. We have a small kettle for making tea, which is pretty much essential for every workday. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll just see us in our work clothes, probably middle of a conversation about some delivery delay or a stock count. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We’ve been in this spot for some time now, and the neighbors know us. We just focus on getting the tasks done and making sure everything is accounted for before we lock up for the evening and head home to our families.
