Unani And Panchakarama Hospital

Down near the New Fathikadal Chowk in Srinagar, you will find our hospital. It is a bit different from the big modern ones you see on the outskirts. We focus on Unani and Panchakarama treatments here. The building is in an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and the houses are close together. You can usually smell the herbs and oils from the street. We have been here at Fathikadal for years. It is a place where we take our time with people. Everything we do is based on old ways of healing that have been around for a long time. People come to us when they are tired of the usual medicines or just want something that feels a bit more natural. Our rooms are plain and we don't have those bright fluorescent lights everywhere. We try to keep it peaceful. The staff knows most of the regular patients by name. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood, but some come from further away in Kashmir too. It is a lot of hard work, especially preparing the oils and keeping everything tidy. We don't use big fancy machines for everything. Instead, we use our hands and the traditional tools.
